Franz and Harriet Lottering, parents of Naomi and Debby, on their wedding day in Manenberg.  Harriet passed away when Naomi was in her late teens and living on the streets in Johannesburg. The family believes witchcraft played a role in her death.  Read more about this project here.

07.02.12 Finding Naomi

Naomi’s National ID card. Although it is no longer necessary for South African citizens to carry an ID card with them at all times, Naomi must have it when she visits the health clinic, signs a contract (such as for a mobile phone) and for interactions with most government agencies.  Read more about this project here.
