10.01.12 DRC: Dancing in KIN

with 3 comments

Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Headlamp Series was created in the home where I stay while working in Kinshasa.  The power goes out regularly in Kin and this does not disrupt daily routines, yet activities and responsibilities are inevitably carried out differently when nearly enveloped in blackness.  The LED lights reveal glimpses of moments, normally public, that seem shrouded in privacy by the dark.

Kinshasa, DRC. Marie Dancing.

  3. This is haunting, Sarah. Everyone is in her/his own world. Separate but together. Beautifully captured.
